Content on Brightspace can be created at 5 levels:

  • “Unit” which is the top level.
    • “Lesson”
      • "Folder”
        • "Folder"
          • "Folder"

In addition, you can create Pages at all five levels.

Units, lessons, folders and Pages together make up the content on your Brightspace page and appear in the course's vertical menu structure.

The menus at the top level are called Units, one level down they are called lessons and then they are called folders, regardless of how many submenus you create.

1. Create a unit

2. Create Lessons, Folders and Pages and add a template

This guide shows you how to create Lesson, Folders, and Pages pages and their relationship to Units.

11. Allow students to mark elements as complete.
