Microsoft 365 (M365)

Group and Project Work

M365 is an online collaboration platform where students have the same access to functionality as instructors. This provides opportunities to share, produce, and communicate between instructors and students. In addition, students can initiate activities themselves and support their work within study groups, and external partners can be invited into Teams, helping to connect the university and the business sector during, for example, internships or clinical placements.

Use tools such as Teams, Planner, Whiteboard, and Loop for group and project work.

Communication

M365 offers many possibilities for communication. The chat function can be used to chat with both larger and smaller groups or individuals, and within activities, others can be tagged, allowing for feedback and comments on specific work. In addition, students can set up Teams meetings with each other within their study groups when physical meetings are not possible.

Always align with the students on how you will communicate in your course.

Studentproduction

M365 offers a range of tools that are easy to access, for example via Teams. Both instructors and students can use the same tools and can individually or in groups write, produce, and provide feedback across platforms.

Use tools such as: Word, OneNote, Sway, and Forms for production.

M365 and Brightspace

Like other programs used in teaching, such as Panopto or FeedbackFruits, M365 is used in conjunction with Brightspace, and it is possible to embed or link to M365 tools from Brightspace. Since M365 is a large platform and can be used without the instructor, it can also make sense to use it independently of Brightspace (e.g., in study groups).
