Below is a list of all the roles you may see in a Classlist in Brightspace. You cannot assigne all the roles:

| Instructor | Can do the same as a Course instructor - assigned manually by either another instructor or by the study administration and not automatically - see more in the guide. |

Visiting instructor | Can do the same as a Course instructor - assigned manually by either another instructor or by the study administration and not automatically - see more in the guide. |

| Teaching Assistant | Can do the same as a Course instructor - assigned manually by either another instructor or by the study administration and not automatically - see more in the guide. |

| Instructor - External | Can do the same as a Course instructor - assigned manually by either another instructor or by the study administration and not automatically - see more in the guide. However, this role cannot see information about the student. The role is assigned to people who are considered external teachers. |
|
| Student - Manual | The role can be assigned to students who have not been assigned a course automatically. |
|
| Guest - Read Only | The role is assigned to a person who should only be able to look into a course, but can not interact with the content or other people in the course, but can import content from the course to another course. In all courses migrated from Blackboard, all persons have this role. |
|
| Student - No classlist | Note: The role can only be assigned by the Faculty Course Administrator, System Support, or System Administrator. Used for courses where access to the Classlist is not desired or permitted — e.g., for GDPR reasons. | Identical to Student, except for:
