On Brightspace courses, it is possible to carry out an evaluation of the course when the course is nearing completion.
It is recommended that you see the guides in the order 1-3, as course evaluations must be set up before they can change the evaluation period or what questions are in the evaluation.
Below you will find guides for:
All evaluation forms have one or more standard questions. The standard questions are selected by AU, the individual faculties, study boards or education committees. In addition, the teachers can add their own questions.
Teachers can add up to 10 questions by either choosing from a themed question bank or by entering their own question. The questions you put on one course evaluation this semester can easily be copied to other courses you teach, both this semester and the next.
For Nat, Tech, BSS and Health, the evaluation process in Brightspace starts early in the semester, where the course coordinators are asked to set up the evaluation. This means that the course coordinator ensures that the teachers who should have access to add questions to the evaluation and should receive a report are on the evaluation. The course coordinator can also change the default evaluation date.
the course coordinator published the evaluation when satisfied with the setup.
Once the course is published, the evaluation will automatically start on the selected start date.
The next day (when you have pressed PUBLISH), all teachers associated with the evaluation will receive an email with a link to add additional questions about the evaluation (see above). This link can also be found on the Brightspace front page under "Course evaluation" on the navigation bar.
Teachers can add additional questions until the day before the evaluation starts.
Note that the course must be published before you can add questions, which is different from the old system in Blackboard.
This guide shows you how to set up a course evaluation. Here is how to change during the evaluation period, how to add or remove people and how to publish the evaluation.
NOTE: The course evaluation setup can only be accessed via the email you have been sent and not via Brightspace.
NOTE: If you have exceeded the deadline for setup of your course evaluations, go to guide 2.

An evaluation report will be generated at the end of the period of evaluation. You will receive an e-mail when the report is ready. You can access the report trough this e-mail or directly through Course Evaluation in Brightspace. The report will not be generated until after the end of the given evaluation period.
Note: The server, where the report is generated, updates all answers once a day at midnight. This means that if the evaluation ends at 15:00 on Monday the submissions made between 00:00 and 15:00, will be included in the report on the after, Tuesday at 00:00.
It was previously possible to access a temporary report based on preliminary answers, this is no longer possible.
The report will not be generated until the end of the given time frame. Please note, that the report will not be generated until the following midnight after the end of the given evaluation timeframe. This entails that if the evaluation is set to end at 1PM on Monday, the report will be ready on the following Tuesday.
At Arts, the Study Administration (UVA / EKA) is responsible for publishing the courses. There is no set evaluation period and it is therefore up to the teachers to choose an evaluation date. Evaluations do not start automatically until a date is selected.
All teachers receive an email that they can ask extra questions and choose an evaluation period when the courses are published.
BSS has some specific procedures for the evaluation of courses.
On the main page of Digital Evaluation you will find information about procedure, evaluation questions and inspiration for your evaluation:
